If the vehicle is travelling at a speed below 30 km/h, the system indicates with a "P" symbol and a direction arrow in the multifunction display of the instrument cluster that it has detected a parking space. When the driver engages reverse gear and confirms the suggested parking space, Parking Pilot with PARKTRONIC assists with the parking manoeuvres. In this process, the driver operates the accelerator and the brake pedal as well as changing gear if necessary. The parking manoeuvre is completed in a maximum of seven moves. The driver can intervene at any time and correct the parking manoeuvre.

The electronic parking aid PARKTRONIC monitors the front and rear of the vehicle during manoeuvring and warns the driver when it detects a potential collision.
