Stuttgart/New York. Mercedes-Benz wins in three categories of the prestigious World Car Awards 2015. Christoph Horn, Head of Global Communications, Mercedes-Benz Cars and Rob Moran, Head of Communications, Mercedes-Benz USA, received the awards at a prize-giving ceremony at the New York International Auto Show.
The Mercedes-Benz C-Class was particularly successful, winning the "2015 World Car of the Year Award". The S-Class Coupé was crowned "2015 World Luxury Car", and the Mercedes-AMG GT sports car "2015 World Performance Car".
Mercedes-Benz is the only automotive manufacturer ever in the history of these awards to have succeeded in reaching the final round in all five categories. This supreme achievement is unique in the eleven-year history of the "World Car of the Year Awards" and reflects the huge popularity of the Stuttgart-based brand with customers. The international jury for these prestigious awards is composed of 75 respected motor journalists.
This is by no means the first time Mercedes-Benz has convinced the jury: in 2014 the S-Class won the category "World Luxury Car"; in 2012 the S 250 CDI BlueEFFICIENCY was voted the winner of the "World Green Car" category; and in 2007 the E 320 BlueTEC won in the same category.
